He wanted an island airfield from which to launch into the Pacific and so he set out to invade the little Indonesian island of Biak. Thank you for inviting me to pray at today’s Veterans Day memorial service. I’d like to base today’s opening prayer on a passage from the prophet Isaiah. He speaks of the Lord’s promise of peace at the end of days.
